Formal Front Garden

Wooden garden structure surrounded by bushes and white tulips, creating a formal and elegant planting display

For this formal front garden in Newbury, a sweeping, curved driveway provided an impressive approach to the Georgian house. We designed a formal planting scheme to frame the property and incorporated painted wooden obelisks in varying heights, and large Osmanthus burkwoodii topiary, to create an elegant planting scheme in keeping with this lovely home.

The topiary and obelisks form the framework of the planting design, in order to ensure there is height and structure all year round. In addition, the perennials bring the planting to life with interest through the seasons, and climbing white roses will wind their way up the obelisks in summer.
