Garden & Landscape Design
An exceptional garden begins with you. We take the time to listen carefully, understand what you want from your outdoor space and explore the nuances of your brief. This early stage is about building trust - creating a relationship where ideas can be shared openly and refined thoughtfully. Through clear, considered communication, designer and client work closely together, shaping a vision that feels personal, confident and genuinely reflective of how you want to live outdoors.
Realising that vision demands craftsmanship of the highest standard. The transition from meticulously developed plans to a finished garden relies on the combined expertise of the designer and the landscape contractor, working seamlessly to honour every detail. From the structure of the hard landscaping to the artistry of the planting, each stage is executed with precision, care and an unwavering commitment to quality - transforming ideas on paper into an elegant, enduring outdoor space.
The design process
01
the initial meeting
Your garden begins with a conversation. This first meeting is an opportunity to get to know you - how you live, what inspires you, and what you want your outdoor space to bring to your daily life. It’s also a chance to walk the site together, explore early ideas and establish the foundations of a trusting, collaborative relationship.
02
the brief
The brief is shaped through careful listening and thoughtful discussion. We take time to understand your aspirations, practical needs, aesthetic preferences and any constraints of the site. This stage ensures the design direction is clear, aligned with your lifestyle, and grounded in a shared understanding of what the garden must achieve.
03
site survey
A detailed site survey captures the essential technical information needed for accurate design work. Levels, measurements, existing features, soil conditions and environmental factors are recorded to ensure the design is both creative and technically robust. This is the point where inspiration meets precision.
04
initial concept
The concept stage brings your ideas to life. You receive a set of early design visuals - sketches, mood boards, outline layouts and planting direction - that express the character and atmosphere of your future garden. This is a collaborative moment, where your feedback helps refine the design and shape the next stage.
05
detailed plans
Once the concept is agreed, the design is developed into fully detailed plans. These include scaled drawings, construction details, lighting and material specifications, and a comprehensive planting plan. Every element is resolved with care, ensuring the garden can be built with accuracy, quality and craftsmanship.
06
project monitoring
During construction, the designer and landscape contractor work closely together to ensure the garden is built exactly as intended. Regular site visits, clear communication and attention to detail safeguard the integrity of the design. This stage ensures that the vision created on paper is realised beautifully and confidently in your finished garden.
What our client had to say...
"Sarah did an amazing design, that really complemented the house and surrounding area. She was on-hand throughout the job, making sure that landscapers fulfilled her vision. She was recommended to me by a friend, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to anyone who will listen!"
